Background and Study Aim: This study explores the interconnections of Emotional Intelligence between male students of M.P. Ed & B.P. Ed of Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar, Punjab.
Materials and Methods: A sample of 40 participants aged Eighteen to Twenty five years was examined. Data were collected using the Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS-SANS) constructed by A. K. Singh and Shruti Narain was used. This scale contains 31 objects divided into four area-I. Understanding Emotions, II. Understanding Motivation, III. Empathy, IV. Handling Relations.
Results: The findings of the study reveal that there is no statistically significant variation in Emotional Intelligence or its components such as; Understanding Emotions, Understanding Motivation, Empathy, and Handling Relationships between male students enrolled in M.P.Ed and B.P.Ed programs at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. This suggests that the level of professional education does not have a significant impact on the emotional intelligence levels among these students.
Conclusion: The findings of the study reveal that there is no statistically noteworthy change in Emotional Intelligence and its sub-components-Understanding Emotions, Understanding Motivation, Empathy, and Handling Relations between M.P.Ed and B.P.Ed male students of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. This indicates that the level of professional physical education, whether undergraduate or postgraduate, does not significantly influence the emotional intelligence levels of the students at the 0.05 level of significance. Emotional intelligence appears to be a consistent trait across both groups, unaffected by the difference in academic level.
